In Honour of an Inspiring Educator
We are proud to dedicate our program to Robert Wiley, an extraordinary Physical Education teacher and Football Coach, whose passion continues to inspire us all. Rob proudly wore the number 2 guernsey, symbolising the core values of trust and respect that he instilled in his students. This program not only honours his legacy but also motivates us to strive for excellence both on and off the field.
Rob Wiley
Robert Wiley stands out as one of Western Australia's most distinguished footballers and coaches celebrated nationwide for his exceptional skill, longevity and profound impact on Australian Football. He was renowned for his remarkable speed, endurance and keen football intelligence and has left an indelible mark on both the WAFL and VFL/AFL.
A graduate of the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Physical Education degree, Rob enjoyed a stellar playing career securing two WAFL Premierships with the Perth Football Club and earning eight Fairest and Best awards. His transition to the Richmond Football Club saw him play a pivotal role in their triumphant 1980 VFL Premiership, showcasing his speed and goal sense.
Following his retirement from elite VFL competition, Rob returned to Perth to further his impact in the WAFL. In their inaugural 1987 VFL season, the West Coast Eagles made a pivotal move by drafting Rob to bring in essential senior experience to the squad. Rob played his final year of football in 1989 and subsequently took on various coaching roles including long-standing assistant coach, senior assistant coach and skills coach at the Eagles. His expertise was instrumental in their premiership victories in 1992, 1994, and 2006.
Rob has established an impressive coaching career holding several distinguished roles. Notably, he served as Coach Manager for WA Football, Director of Coaching and Development at the Carlton Football Club, Head Coach at the East Fremantle Football Club and West Coast Eagles WAFL team. Additionally, he has shared his extensive knowledge with the women's programs at both the West Coast Eagles and Perth Football Club. Honoured as an All-Australian on two occasions in 1984 and 1986, Rob's incredible legacy was further solidified with his induction into the Australian Football Hall of Fame in 2021.

"Open Gates" Initiative
Open Gates unlocks the game day experience for those who might otherwise miss it — giving families, students, educators and military personnel the chance to feel the energy, the atmosphere and the belief that only live sport can create.
"Game Ball" Initiative
At the core of competitive sports is the equipment that ensures fairness and excellence. High-quality game balls are essential for an optimal experience. By equipping athletes with superior tools, we create an environment where talent flourishes and competition thrives.
